Big Orange has not so quietly served up some of the best burgers in the state from their two Little Rock locations since 2011. They are now looking to Rogers for their third location in the Pinnacle Hills Promenade, which is expected to open this fall.
Big Orange is a member of the Yellow Rocket Concepts group that also operates Local Lime, Heights Taco & Tamale, ZAZA, and Lost Forty Brewing co. While this is their first expansion into NWA, it is a bit of a homecoming for Executive Chef Scott McGehee.
“I was born at Washington Regional in Fayetteville while my dad played for the Arkansas Razorbacks. I returned to Fayetteville to attend the University of Arkansas before leaving for culinary school,” says McGehee. “Sharing my team’s passion for thoughtfully prepared, delicious burgers with our friends in Northwest Arkansas will be the most wonderful homecoming I could imagine.”
Over the past six years Big Orange has built a reputation for high quality food and an excellent bar program. It has won numerous awards, as well as our annual award for best hospitality team in Little Rock.
The concept focuses on high quality burgers using premium ingredients. While you will certainly find a standard cheese burger, you should dig into the menu for some of our non-traditional favorites like the White Truffle And Pecorino and the Pimento Cheese Burger. Their sides are also exceptional, especially their sweet potato fries and truffle-garlic fries. They also make exceptional shakes that rotate seasonally.
On the more adult side of things, their bar program is second to none. It holds a lot of the top spirits available in the state, and has been managed over the years from some of the top beverage professionals to work in Arkansas. Aside from craft cocktails they always feature an extensive line of craft beers, wines, and their signature Velvet Orange cocktail.
Big Orange has an overall commitment to using locally produced ingredients including produce from local farmers, beef that is sourced just 80 miles from the new Rogers location, Arkansas made buns, and a wide variety of other local and regional goods that go into specials as well as everyday menu items.
The space itself is located at 2203 S. Promenade Blvd. #3100 in Rogers. The location will be 5,200 sq ft and seat around 158 guests. All of the Yellow Rocket restaurants are known for their close attention to detail and exceptional interior design.
“We are excited to share our warm, friendly atmosphere and commitment to excellent food and service our Big Orange team has built together over the last ve years,” McGehee says. “Rogers was a natural fit for our third location – a perfectly central location for Fayetteville, Rogers, Springdale, and Bentonville communities. We just can’t wait to get started!”
Construction is currently underway, Big Orange is anticipating a fall launch later this year. Once open they frequently have popup dinners, seasonal specials, and collaborations with other local restaurants.
