New Fayetteville Food Truck: Wanalei’u Hawaiian Shaved Ice

Just in time for the sweltering heat of Summer, there’s a new shaved ice vendor in Fayetteville, from Hawaii by way of Nebraska.  Wanalei’u Hawaiian Shaved Ice officially opens today at the corner of Block Avenue and Spring Street, right next to Chunky Dunk.  Owner Tim Law recently moved to Northwest Arkansas from Nebraska.  His employees Matthew and Hayden noticed that a shaved ice stand had been brought during the move, so they decided to put it to good use.

Wanalei’u will be open 11am to 8pm, and perhaps later on the weekends, if the foot traffic from Dickson or Maxines warrants it.

There are four sizes of shaved ice:  the mini lei for $2, the single lei for $4, the double lei for $5, and the triple lei for $6.  You can add a sno-cap (cream) for $.50 or a sour spray for the same price.  Adding a scoop of ice cream is $1.

There are Hawaiian themed flavor combinations as well, including the Hawaiian Wedding (pina colada, wedding cake flavor and cream) as well as the Lahaina (pineapple, coconut and banana).  They’re also working to perhaps get some PhAlchemy hand crafted syrups as well, soon.

You can follow Wanalei’u on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook.
