Blackboard Grocery & Eatery and Purtian Brew Company are hosting a beer and cheese event on April 30 and May 1. The fun starts at Blackboard, where people can get a four-cheese sampler from Murray’s Cheese for $20. Then the party heads to Puritan, where a flight of Fossil Cove Brewing Co. beer and pairing notes await. Space is limited and RSVPs must be received by April 26. Check out the event on Facebook for details, and if you’re interested in the May 1 event, Hogshead Tours is making it a stop on their evening tour, with additional stops at Columbus House Brewery and West Mountain Brewing Co.
Powerhouse Seafood & Grill shared a photo on its Facebook page of the renovations that are happening in the restaurant’s bar area. They are adding booths, high-top tables and a lounge area to the bar. Incidentally, the first party on the patio of the season is Thursday, April 30, with the band Got it Covered. Gates open at 6 p.m. and the band starts at 8. Attendees must be 18 or older to enter the patio and there’s a $5 cover charge.
Speaking of fun patio events, Shogun of Fayetteville notes on its Facebook page that it will be teaming up with Core Brewery for a food and beer pairing on the patio on May 4. We’ll tell you more when we hear it.
There’s been lots happening at Arsaga’s at the Depot recently, including the replacement of the air conditioning and the floors. Their longtime barista Ben has left and they are currently seeking a dishwasher and prep/line cook.
Little Rock food truck The Pie Hole will be at the Block St Block party on Sunday May 17th. “It’s a huge neighborhood festival and a ton of fun so I’m super excited they’re letting me come. It’s my first time back with the truck, too!”
Gusano’s Pizzeria opens new location in Rogers. The newest location at 2603 West Pleasant Grove Road opened on Tuesday for all you Chicago(ish) style pizza fans. This is the Little Rock based eatery’s 4th location in Arkansas and 9th total.
